Academic editing
My academic editing services are for both academic staff and postgraduate students. I copyedit and proofread academic documents such as research papers, monographs, research proposals and postgraduate theses.
The main academic subject areas I edit include accountancy, business, finance, education and law. If you have a research paper in another area, please get in touch with me as I have edited papers and theses in a range of other subjects. I have a specific interest in the lives and works of the Brontë sisters, so if you are in need of an editor with extensive knowledge of this area, I would be more than happy to help. |
Style guides
When editing academic documents, I will follow your university or journal style guide or use one of the following style manuals as a guide:
I also ensure the in-text citations and reference list follow your specified citation style such as Chicago, APA, Harvard (author-date) or Vancouver. |
All my editing work follows the IPEd Standards for Editing Practice and the Guidelines for Editing Research Theses (revised 25 February 2019), produced by the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd).
Please note: I only do editing work for postgraduate students, not undergraduate students.
Josephine is a star!
For 15 years, Josephine has massaged and polished the texts. She has made an enormous contribution to Brontë Studies,
the internationally successful quarterly journal of the Brontë Society.
She presents excellently edited articles with attention to content, style, sense, grammar and all the details, unfailingly on time.
Her proofreading is first class. I cannot recommend her too highly.
